Get It Fixed At The Cumberland Repair Cafe

Get an expert helping hand repairing your broken items this weekend!

Fix electronics, jewelry, bikes, and more at a family-friendly event with sweet treats and recycling games

Earth Day has come and gone another year, but we still need to keep reducing, reusing, and recycling.

Luckily, everything makes a difference, and the Cumberland Community Schools Society (CCSS) is around to help you make yours!

The CCSS is hosting a “Repair Cafe” this Saturday at the Cumberland Community School!

If you have anything tucked away in your closet that you’ve been holding off on throwing out or haven’t gotten around to getting fixed, now is the time to bring them back out.

“We are excited to announce that we have over 20 fixers who have volunteered their time to attend the first Cumberland Repair Cafe,” says Kate Ashton, the program coordinator for CCSS, told Comox Valley News.

“There will be fixers at the event with expertise in electronics and small appliance repair, jewelry repair, textile mending, bike repair, eyeglass repair, sock darning and more. Gather your broken items and come and join us!”

The whole event will be very family friendly – a Lego table, a small toy repair table, and recycling games will keep children occupied while you wait.

Sweet treats and drinks will also be provided. Overall, it seems like a pretty great way to spend an afternoon!

You can check out their website for more info on this and other CCSS events and programs.
