Spooky Season Candy Wrappers? Not In Our River!

With all the Halloween shenanigans, our home deserves a clean up!

Let’s get at least one part of our life together

Sometimes folks get messy over Halloween weekend.

But we know balance in life is key. So if we know we’ll spend the weekend covered in face paint and candy, why not funnel our cleanliness elsewhere?

Comox Valley Fishing Mentors has the perfect opportunity to offset your Saturday night shenanigans. Why not join the community clean-up of the Puntledge River?

It’s been a while since the last one. So if we all work together, at least one part of our home won’t be covered in candy wrappers.

The plan is to meet at Puntledge Park on October 30th at 11 a.m.

Folks who want to join will be organized into groups and given a stretch of the river to make spotless.

Maybe we can even make it a friendly competition. Call it bobbing for garbage. Yum!

While that’s a scarily disgusting image, the shindig afterwards will be a lot more appetizing.

Volunteers get free hot dogs, coffee, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider. Plus, there will be a name draw raffle for some fishing tackle and flies for one lucky winner.

So you’ll get some treats for performing this magic trick after all.

You can get full info and any updates for the cleanup on their Facebook page here.

Happy mess making! Happy cleaning! And happy Halloween!
