When it comes to fun for all ages, Courtenay Rec Centre has your bases covered this Family Day.
Ping pong, air hockey, foosball, pool, scootering and skateboarding, Wii Sports, family board games, crafts, karaoke, balloons, magic shows, Minute to Win It challenges and free snacks?
This has to be any kid’s dream. And you can’t beat the price tag: free!
The fun is going down on February 20 at the Lewis Centre (489 Old Island Highway) from 10 am to 4 pm, and at the LINC Youth Centre (300 Old Island Highway) from 11 am to 2 pm. The buildings are across the street from each other, which makes it easy to take it all in.
There will also be a bunch of fun performances.
From 12:30-2:00, the LINC will have magician Greg Ladret. He’s sure to mesmerize you, and he’ll be giving out balloon toys.
Over at the Lewis Center, you’ll see live performances from the one and only Mr. Day. He’ll be busting out a host of hilarious puppet characters and musical numbers at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
You can also join guided group activities like clay making with Jenja, arts and crafts with Courtnea, and Line Dancing with Darlene and Joan at 10:30 am. And don’t miss Boot Camp Board Games from noon to 1:00.
Once your kids are completely tuckered out from all the activities they can possibly handle in one day, you can finish everything off with a trip to the “Awkward Family Photo Station.”
You know, to properly commemorate the most fabulous day ever.
Family Day is just around the corner. Be there or be square!
