Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show may be done for good, but Victor’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK!
If you haven’t heard the hype, Victor’s Show is an all-around upgrade from its semi-stolen moniker.
It’s local, gives to a fantastic cause, and is much more entertaining.
Unlike Victoria’s Secret, the local version aims to amuse all audiences.
Their models are a fantastic group of local Port McNeill dudes who can slay a catwalk and pull off a local hand-made bra.
This will be the event’s 10th anniversary and the first time back since COVID.
Organizer Cheryl Verbrugge told the North Island Gazette she’s thrilled to have it back up and running.
“We’re all happy to be back, and we’re so happy the show has made it to 10 years.”
Over its last nine shows, the show has raised over $32,000 for North Island Cancer patients.
Even when they couldn’t cheer any models down the runway, the community still pulled through to give their support.
Through generous donations and ticket sales, they’ve so far gotten to support 54 islanders to cover their travel expenses and accommodations when they leave for treatments.
“The community really stepped up over COVID,” she said. “Community members came up with brilliant ideas for fundraising, and lots of people just randomly sent me cheques and e-transfers.”
Along with all the eager spectators, the runway talent is rearing to go for the show’s long-awaited reappearance.
“Like always, we have a decent number of volunteers right now, but we’ll see when the first day of rehearsals for the grand finale comes around!”
