What We Love: Northern Resident Orcas Rubbing on the Beach

OrcaLab used a remote camera to catch the whales as they rubbed against the smooth pebbles

Who doesn’t love a good back rub?

Every summer, Northern Resident orcas come by Robson Bight for a good rub along the shore. This summer is no different!

The folks at OrcaLab used their remote camera to capture this underwater video of the whales.

According to their Facebook post, these whales are from the A50 and A54 matrilineal lines. Since A30 passed away, the two lines have spent more time apart. But the family reunited for a good rub along the smooth pebbles this summer.
