Do you like funk music? Do you like local music? Do you like local funk music?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then get ready to get off your butt and onto the dance floor.
That’s because Oktiv6 and the Jays have teamed up to bring the house down.
Oktiv6 is a Courtenay rapper who makes music about life on VanIsle. The Jays are a three-piece funk band with soul to spare.
They’ve recently started working together, and they are fresh off performing at Hoodstock Entertainment’s Backyard Boogie in Nanaimo. There, they performed with Sirreal and Blue Satellite, and Caleb Hart.
Back in August, the crew had folks shakin’ at the 5 Acre Shaker with XL the Band.
They’re very excited to bring this show to a local audience in November at the Cumberland Woodstove Festival, where they’ll be doing Oktiv6 songs and a few covers to get you moving.
The Woodstove Festival runs from November 4th to November 6th. Tickets are going fast!
